My suggestion always has been that all humans know how to get up, brush teeth, take bath, eat properly, sleep well and thus all daily activities that keep us close to open school of learning, nature. Mostly, we are told that we are not educated so we may think and feel inferior, but it is totally a wrong concept. The people, who are close to nature always learn and we may not learn after of studies finish at the colleges or universities.
A layman can calculate faster than other without using calculator. My signature may not match as computer says when I sign a cheque for withdrawal and if I go to use ATM, I may not know how to use the card, which any illiterate person can use and operate. While, I may not download a song on my mobile, a layman, who has never been to school can easily do everything.
The thumb impression is must on most of the official documents, but I smile when I read instruction for illiterate people not to wipe the ink from their thumb after giving impressions on documents.
We need to consider that literacy now needs that we can speak and hear. I notice everyday that computers and mobiles can do all works just by our speech recognition or even relevancy and we can hear what is written using computers.
I have not noticed highly educated and intellectual people very effective when it comes to deal with the modern use of computers and other equipments and machines.
While our youth is not learning the proper speech and hearing skills, the machines, particularly the computers cannot interpret the slang or short terms as if abbreviations.
It makes me think that we are in dire need to speak and hear well instead of read and write as science and technology advances. Now, you can smile and I cannot stop you from making laughter less louder than you hear as it is very difficult to laugh inside when the stomach laughs and mouth try to cut the tongue without cutting it, yes biting the tongue is there.
Let us learn to speak and hear lest we forget to smile and laugh. I learn it from the people, whom many claim to be illiterate, but they remind me of open school of learning of nature for the practical education reminding of aborigines and the native people.
Thus, I am a student of nature, and have to learn just for 24 hours a day for 7 days of a week for only 52 weeks to complete studies of a year to get one year older certificate of passing it, the year.
Yes, it is so simple and yet...
Thanks for your reading it!
